For anyone that is a cyclist...here is a public service announcement from your friendly fohaf mod. You are required to obey all road laws that motor vehicles must follow and adhere to. This includes STOPPING FOR SCHOOL BUSES ALSO.. A 180-200 pound man riding a bicycle at 25 mph and hitting a walking child would be disastrous. It almost happened to me this morning. Had we not been running late and had to drive instead of walking like we usually do, I would have physically knocked this asshole slap off his bike
I am a mountain biker myself. There are plenty of parks you can go to that are made for biking. Stay off the damn streets
Have a good day!
And when you hit someones car with your bike, have the decency to stop instead of cutting through traffic to get away... I had a guy come off the sidewalk and put a 5" scratch on my car and then ride away. I couldn't do anything but call him a few choice names because I was stuck in traffic...
and while your at it put those reflectors back on the bike so we can see you at night, (God forbid a headlight like we used to have to use), sorry if it interferes with your drug sales via bike use.

THANKS! I have to deal with pedestrian and bicycle accidents in my job. I like helping to make the roadways and public areas in Florida safer, that is number one on my job mission statement, but please my C.F.S. pile is overloaded with accident reports... I have to classify accidents (non-ped/bicycle included) and I am putting too many in the C.F.S. pile. (not the official name but more fitting than the victim at fault fatality filename. "Can't fix stupid" is more fitting and easier to go to sleep at night calling it) I spend taxpayer's money (which I try to spend as if it is minewithin my control) to protect drivers, pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles and the public in general. Too many people cross 15 feet (plus) downstream of the crosswalk and signals that cost the taxpayers $50k to install to keep folks safe. Or they ride a bicycle in a travel lane towards a car, both will miss judge the closing speed. Or a car that has no worries about cutting a motrcycle too close because they have no worries about getting hurt if they collide. Bicyclists MUST follow the same road rules as a car, if I car has to do it so do you. A school zone will cost you over $500 if you are caught above the speed limit including on a bicycle. Be smart, be safe and please be courteous (at least minimially).
Ok, I will step off my soapbox now.......

Those are still the law. A bicycle must have front and rear lighting, side reflectors. The problem is the police will not enforce r fear of negative publicity.
