Giant 'rat' helps PETA protest Lowe's sale of glue traps in New Port Richey

Kristin Kopoian saw the rat costume from across Little Road, and wanted to say "hi."
Kristin, 11, and her grandmother, Jeanne Kopoian, didn't realize until they crossed the street to the Lowe's parking lot that the rat was actually part of a PETA protest.
"Did you know it is illegal to sell glue traps in New Port Richey?" Lauren Stroyeck, a campaigner for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asked Jeanne Kopoian. "We're asking Lowe's to stop selling them."
Kopoian said she didn't know the traps were illegal, but she doesn't use them, anyway.
"That's terrible and inhumane," Kopoian said.
Meanwhile, Kristin had named the furry rat "Bob."
Stroyeck and volunteer Caroline Slocum of Petoskey, Mich., held signs that said:
"Glue Traps:
Illegal in
New Port Richey
Inhumane Everywhere"
In New Port Richey, a city ordinance reads, "No person shall set any inhumane trap for the purpose of capturing any non-domestic animal, reptile, or fowl on any public or private property."
"If it's illegal to use them in the city, why are they selling them?" Stroyeck asked.
Inside the pink-tailed rat costume was PETA volunteer Chloe Kodrun. Although temperatures were in the high 80s and there were few clouds overhead, Kodrun said she is dedicated to helping animals.
Besides, the costume was ventilated.
I wonder if they realize how stupid they look, standing in a Lowe's parking lot protesting rat traps and glue boards. Seriously, go get a freaking job
so not hog trapping in npr? wtf?
PETA is the most hypocritical org. in the freaking universe. All there members need to help the environment and stop breathing if you ask me.
So does the law specifically name glue traps as 'inhumane'- or is it just these self-righteous ignoramuses' opinion, so therefore they should be banned? That's how these idiots work- setting up their own definitions and then raising a stink.
What cal. vents were they I wonder!
