Scam or not.

Ok ill tell you all my experience.

I joined a couple of years ago. I think it was like 14.95 a month and they give you American Hunter Magazine, and suppossibly Stuff to try out. Supposibly, bow strings, sights, some guns even, and so on. All this stuff they say you get.. So i was a member for my first 3 months and i just got the magazine... So whatever..

About 3 months in i get a letter and a big box. So im like finally this paid off. In the box there is a plaque with my name on it saying "North American Hunter Life Time Member", 3 Lifetime member patches, Playing cards in a wooden lifetime member box, gold plated belt buckle life time member also, gun cleaning kit, Gun cleaning drop cloth, and a bunch of other stuf.. Ok on the letter it says something about.. congradulations you have been selected to be the winner of a life time member ship. They also say to return this piece of paper back with your size and so they can send your hunting vest to you. They also say that you will be reinbursed any money you paid for member ship ever and get a LIFE TIME of american hunter magazine.

I was like cool.. I never win anything EVER!!.. so i send the piece of paper back and keep the stuff in the box and put it in my closet. A week later i get a bill for 350 dollars!!!.. Im like WTF.. it says that it should of been 400 but they deducted the first couple of payments.. LIKE IM SUPPOST TO BE HAPPY. WTF. So they say i accepted the invitation.. LOL.. what did i get invited to? WANNA KNOW WHAT.. Invitet to become a life member.. BULL CRAP. you dont have to get invited you can just pay the fee and any joe blow can be a life member..

It pisses me off the way they write it so you think you actually won something. IN reality they Won your money for a lifetime membership.. This should be illegal.

Ok so i just pay the fee and im like.. ok with the free stuff they gave me and the life time hunter magazine it will all even out after a couple of years. So i never get my vest. They just send me a rifle case.. actually pretty nice with leather , insulated, and gold heavy duty zippers. I already have like 10 of these so it go put in the closet next to the rest of them..

So im a little pissed off that i fell for this freakin scam. So im like whatever. If im helping the hunting community i guess its not a bad ass reaming i got.. Then i start getting packages the first one was a book called "white tail wisdon" so im like NICE.. its paying off. So i just take the book and file it with the rest of the stuff in the closet.. Finally one day i take it up to hunt camp and start reading it. ON the last page theres a piece of paper saying " send 25 dollars to keep the book or send it back at your choice. IM LIKE WTF. so now i gotta run to the post office and waste my time and postage to send it back.. WTF. once again i just sent the payment. I acutally liked the book. Then recieve tons of more stuff that i dont want. like hunting figurines, and 600 dollar bone handle mounted knife!!!.. Who will pay that.. i sent them back.. Got sick and tired of people sending me products pre paid that i owe them money for.

I called them up and was like.. STOP SENDING ME THIS STUFF.. Only send me the free stuff that you promised me .. LIke the stuff to try out in the field like the game calls, and ammo ect. She says "well if we stop sending the other stuff you get put on the dont send list and your free stuff will not come either" I said screw you and dont send any more crap to my house.. Havent gotten anything since.. WHAT a ripoff... they lure you into a money tree that you are either forced to buy or take the time pay and send it back.. trust me when you are getting one thing a week it gets annoying and sometimes you forget to send it back or just dont have time.. then you get the collections letters.. so then you are mad and have to run to the post office and pay to send this stuff back..

oh yea and another thing, If you go to their website and forum there are people complaining about the same thing and noone will answer their questions.. They just delete the thread after they notice its there .. And the only ones there posting anything good are the people who work for the magazine.

Hope this stops anyone els from getting lured in. And yea i stil get my magazine.
