Dang that sucks! I know the feeling, I put my female down not to long ago. Time will heal the pain. I love dogs much more then people!!! Sorry for your loss 🙁
MY dog also almost got a walk not too long ago.. but stopped myself. As the days pass nicerack you will regain the smile and put it behind you.

they dont go anywhere.. shes still here.. our kitten feeks out sometimes and does weird things, like she was spooked or something.. its funny.. im not sure if the cat sees her or if shes just a freek but i like to think she sees her.. (does that make me weird?)
I'm fairly certain your cat is not seeing your deceased dog.Best thing to help you feel better is go get a new puppy.
