I thought about lifting mine as well. I decided to go with a front leveling kit to start. My truck had 31" all season tires on 20 x 8.5 inch aluminum rims and I moved up to a 33" All terrian after installing the kit. I lost about 2 mpg which sucks but I got stuck once in the all season tires and swore it would never happen again. Plus I hate the 2" rake that the truck companies are putting in the new models to begin with. I could install a body lift and move up to a 35" tire but I understand you should swap out the gears with any thing as big as a 35" tire if you want to keep any type of performance at all. I know the leveling kit and body lift are half the price of a 6" suspension lift and your still running the same size tire. As long as your not hard core running the thing offroad, I don't see the difference plus you are leaving the oirginal drive line geometry in place.
well what will the new fuel do there changing the ethanol again- it recommended for 2001 up vehicles.
Thats the best reason to have it put on a dyno. The guy I used can adjust ignition spark/timing, fuel/air ratio and adjust transmission shift points if needed based upon the type of fuel you usually use. I had mine specifically tuned to 87 octane w/ ethanol.
That's what I thought about doing was the leveling kit. How hard ere the headers to install? It looks like a tight squeeze to me. What year is urs?
just liftin mine.. nice.
