Thanks all for the prayers. He's not out of the woods, but he's been released from the trauma room.
Just got off the phone with his mom. He had some kind of blood infection or something that got worse instead of better on the meds. Had to have some kind of surgery on his cheek or something. From what I gathered, the docs got concerned, because he had some kind of "growth" or something on his cheek that just showed up, and the blood tests showed a severe infection that wasn't isolated to that area alone. After the surgery and flushing the old meds out of his system, they are monitoring him now. Had us real worried. Definitely not the way he planned on spending his last week of his freshman school year. Hope he's able to go home tomorrow.
