So today the truck over heats!.. Now remember new radiator in the truck.. SO.. they change the thermostat and try to charge me 75 bucks.. i say whatever.. they come back and say it wasnt the thermostat so they will not charge me.. But they cant figure out what it is. SOOO.. they said that the radiator is running 80 degrees hotter on one side then the other side. SOOO.. they said they will order ANOTHER new radiator and swap it out at no charge to me and they will not charge me for the thermostat which did nothing at all.. SOOO.. this sucks.. hope the radiator was a defect and its ok tomorrow..

Already Tried:
replaced fan clutch and thermostat.It sounds like the radiator is colgged up, but you will want to be sure that the coolant is circulating good. The inlet side of any radiator will be somewhat hotter than the outlet side.

the top hose on the radiator is getting extremely hot to where u can't touch it, but the bottom one remains at regular temperature. could this be another factor?Accepted Answer
The first thing that you want to do is check the cooling system for any exhaust gases. There is a tester for that, that you can gt from Autozone for about $20.
Block tester available as:
Snap-On GDCT16
Napa BK. XXX-XXXX
If there are any exhaust gases in the cooling system, that will cause more pressure than desired and will probably allow the engine to heat up the coolant.
If there are, then there would be an internal engine problem, like a head gasket or head.

yea they said it could be clogged radiator. ITS BRAND NEW THO!!.. they are gonna change it again tomorrow.

i know.. hope its fixed this weekend.. im so busy with work that i will not be able to hunt turkey for the rest of the season except for this week.

I'm almost in the same boat. Work is going nuts all of a sudden and looks like I'm good for the next few months at least. It's been a while since I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. Still ain't giving up on my turkey time though even if the lil lady don't like it. :clap
