As of 3:30 this afternoon he swore into the United States Air Force. It will suck having him away from his family for an extended amount of time, but I am so proud of him. :usaf :salute3d
Well I'm sure that your a proud daddy... To be honest with you that is probally one of the better forces to join now days. That seem to have the best of all worlds. No parent will ever want to see there children leave for extended periods, but rest assure he'll be in good hands...
:saluting
Let him know he will be kept in our prayers. I know your feelings, My son was just medically retired from the USMC after 16yrs. The sand box took its toll. :land
You must be proud!
God bless your son, bodysnatcher. One of our son's high school friends came by for a visit a week or so back. Always a polite kid, he's now an E-7 with a few more years in the Army before retirement.
My son didn't go in the service so I have no idea of what you are feeling inside. I do remember the morning when I was fixin' to leave for Parris Island! My Daddy had told his work place that he would be a little late. Everything went well until it was time to go. This was the 1st time I saw my Daddy cry, he turned and ran out to his old car and headed for work. I'll cherish that memory forever. He was in the Army during WWII, he met my mother, who was a nurse in an army hospital in Nevada.
We will all be proud of the young folks that choose to serve our country, give Jake a good hug or handshake for us when he gets ready to go.
