Literally..........

At just before 5Am, my dog started going crazy. I did hear a little noise, but was pretty deep asleep and didn't pay attention. A few seconds later we figured out what it was. My neighbors shed was on fire, and it was bad. This is no ordinary shed, its literally a 24x20 building. It backs up to the fence on the other side from me, and at first I thought it was that house on fire. Grabbed cell phone, dialed 911 as I ran out the door. I ran barefoot next door and tried to break his door down because I know he has three kids. They were all in same state of panic I was in. I grabbed his kids and took them down to my house while my wife got my son and mom up (at this point we still didn't really realize what was on fire or how severe). We've got massive oaks in our street and the top of the closest one was scorched. Thats how high the flames were. HCSO was there in about 3 minutes and busted in the house on the other side to get the old man there out..

Then I ran back home and got my water hose going to wash out the embers that were blowing down. That is what had me scared more than anything as dry as it is and as many leaves as there are on the roof and ground. FD was there within 10 minutes. When I called it in I thought it was the 2-story house, so they sent about 6 or so fire trucks

Anyway, all were safe. No injuries and I don't think any damage to any of the houses. I did hear the other neighbor can't get his truck door open due to it warping from the heat.

Here is a crappy cell pic I took during the fiasco. You can see the frame of the shed in the pic, and on the right side you can see the other house, and how close it was. I wold only be speculating right now as to what caused this fire. I'll talk to him later and get some more info

Good job with the response! Glad folks are all OK. It's tough to lose stuff, but people can't be replaced!
