Headin up to Steinhatchee. Mom and sis coming down from Ga. If the weather cooperates I will have th big boat in the water and put a hurtin on the black sea bass. been watching the weather and it is not looking promising at all
I might have to fish inshore.
If that doesn't work I know a catfish hole in the river.
If all else fails I will end up at Ichetucknee tubing with the wife and youngin
Should be a good time anyway

I bet Memorial Day weekend that Ichetucknee maxes out early and stays full. That's a great tubing run, though. I'll have to get back up there some time.

I hope to do some beach fishing early at least a couple of mornings, but no specific plans yet.

They let X number of people down the river each day, then shut it down. But you can go to the blue spring and swim all day. They made a nice park there a few years ago and it is more fun than the tube ride, IMHO. Something about 70 degree water in the summer that makes a cracker boy happy 😀

I haven't been there since 1983, but they always limited the number of people allowed.

There's a lot of springs along the Suwannee basin, some only known by the locals. When I was in the USAF stationed in Valdosta, we'd drive down to the first exit in Florida off I-75, head west down to Blue Springs (I think there are about a dozen "Blue Springs" in Florida!). That water was colder than Ichetucknee! But we had a blast trying to dive in and swim against the spring outflow. You could jump off a platform in a tree by the edge of the spring, 20 feet up, and not go more than 4 or 5 feet deep if you jumped into the outflow. Probably kill me to try it now! 😆
