Great story....thanks!
Back when I was a fitter at Plant City Steel, they bought a bunch of steel from Japan for a set of pre-stressed concrete forms we were building. When they broke a radius on that 3/8" thick crap, every piece had multiple cracks on the outer side that we had to weld up and grind down. Cost the company 50% more in the long run than if they had stayed with the American supplier. Years later, after I got out of the Air Force, I owned a small paint & body shop and the few times I bought an aftermarket fender, bumper, hood, etc. that was from China, I had a heck of time with making them line up right so the gaps were even and not too big or too tight. I almost always had to drill out the bolt holes (or make them!). It was worth the time savings to buy US made OEM parts and get the job done faster and not have to worry about it coming back. I'm all for supporting US-made goods whenever possible.
the same can be said when u buy something from a small business instead of a big chain. let's rebuild america w/American made products .
:gba :united I posted that video on my Facebook page, so more contractors- and DIYers could see it! Let's make America a PRODUCING CAPITAL again! :saluting :flageagle
