Shooting snipe is harder than white-wing dove! Them things move around like a 3-year-old redheaded kid who's had three redbulls and a bag of skittles!

Agreed, I dont know how many little pond birds Ive shot because I heard the "meeenh" when a snipe flushed somewhere. Man I love shooting those things.

I remember the first time I shot a snipe, January 1981. I was 16 and had my new 12 gauge 870 Wingmaster I had gotten for Christmas, and we were quail hunting on a ranch just east of Bartow. My dad and I were dropped off to walk a pasture on one side of the property, and my brother went with the rancher and his son to another part. Dad and I got over near a cattle pond, and this snipe jumped up and Dad said "Shoot him!", so I did! Well, we jumped two more, and with 2 more shots I had killed 3 snipe with 3 shells. Then reality set in! We'd spooked everything around that pond, and headed across the pasture towards another pond. As we got up to it, a snipe jumped and I missed. Then a killdee jumped up 10 feet in front of me and I obliterated it! We jumped 5 more snipe, and I didn't cut another feather! We did manage about a dozen bobwhites and those 3 snipe. That was almost 30 years ago and I remember it like it was last week.

My dad said that if they looked easy to shoot when they flushed it was a killdee. I get a rush thinking about the sound of em flushing.

Great pic. I never thought i would like those little critters. It's better and harder than dove hunting. :toast
