He used to travel with a show called "Nashville on the Road", with Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius. They went around the country, set up in different places, and taped shows to put on TV. When I was 14 we lived on Jekyll Island, GA and they brought their show there for a few days to tape. We got to meet all the stars, and Jerry Clower bought ice cream for a bunch of us kids then told some stories while we ate it. Some of them weren't that great, as they were toned down for the little kids (8-9 years old), but he told the one about being up in the tree with the wildcat where he says "shoot up here amongst us, somebody has got to have some relief!". He got a little ticked at the producer guy who came over and told him to finish his ice cream and get over to the set! He had a little captive audience and loved it. He lived to perform, that's for sure!
