My son got a new 50 cal. muzzle loader two winters back. I'd never been around one and neglected my earplugs. I was about 10 feet away almost directly opposite the hammer when he fired and couldn't hear on that side for months! Tinnistis for most of that time, too. It is only now getting back to decent hearing. Earplugs every time, every gun, every shot from then on!!!
WHAT
Around Christmas last year, it rained for 3-4 days straight in Madison, and we were stuck there in it.
One evening we decided to sit in the truck (truck running, music playing, dogs in the dog box in the back) and watch a feeder....no expectations whatsoever...Just tired of looking at the inside of the camper. Sure enough, some hogs came out right at dark and my buddy rolled the window down, slid out of the window and shot one. The 7mm mag he was shooting had a muzzle brake on it and the enclosed space in the truck made it even worse. We were both yelling at each other trying to communicate over the ringing. Went away a few days later.
my ears rang for 3 days after a Hot Tuna concert, does that count. anyone whos'ever been to a Ted Nugent concert probly has some hearing loss also.
Saw Uncle Ted and 10 Years After, Alvin Lee battle of the guitars over 40 years ago. WHAT. :wacko
