How successful are your hunts? Do you usually get a deer or hog everytime you go out?

I think I've spent about 25 days up on the stand this year. I usually spend 2-3 hours in the morning starting about 1 hour before sun rise and then go back out for about 2-3 hours around 2 hours before sun set. Most of the times I'm not hunting as I just go out with my sidearm and bino to watch animals and listen to the wind.

I think I went out to the stand to hunt (meaning I went out with a rifle in hand with the intention of shooting an animal) about 10 times and so far I've gotten 4 hogs. I guess that makes my average about 40%. Is that good or low compared to your averages?

I think that's gonna mean different things to different people. if I make it home "on time" without the truck breaking down, being shot, snake bit and with most of the gear I went in with, then that's a success.

I don't measure by kills . Just being able to sit in the woods is enough for me................

As long as I am not comparing my results to Kemster and Down4dacount......I'm usually feeling ok lol.....but seriously Dave, Crock and Nacho have it pegged....its not the result....... its the process/experience/memories
