ST. PETERSBURG - Moments after pointing a .38-caliber revolver at her adult daughter Monday night, a 58-year-old woman accidently shot herself in the leg, police said.
Latraiel Gamble was at 2323 Ninth Ave. N. shortly after 10 p.m., when she pointed the weapon at her 37-year-old daughter, Moneka, police said.
The elder Gamble said a few words, pointed the gun down and walked away when the gun discharged and struck her in the leg, police spokesman Mike Puetz said. She was later treated at Edward White Hospital.
Latraiel Gamble was charged with domesticated aggravated assault with a firearm.
The Gambles don't live where the shooting took place, Puetz said. A relative witnessed to the shooting, he said.
Latraiel Gamble works for the Air Force, according to arrest records

I hope 'works for' means she's a civilian employee! Otherwise, it doesn't speak well of USAF firearms training.
