TGIF, what a freakin day today, almost came to blows with 2 diff shoe cobblers by 10: 30 then the day from hell at work. went to the first cobbler at 08:30 for a simple sew on a piece of velcro to my shotgun stock cheek pad and get rid of the shoe laces. pulled into the empty strip mall , only one in store had the stock pad and velcro and just needed him to sew 2- pieces of velcro on, would have taken 2 minutes if he was slow. he procedes to tell me it's gonna take 2-3 weeks and cost at least 20$ and how he can't put my job ahead of everyone elses, now I'm fuming but trying to keep it cool and tell him I don,t exactly see a line out your door, not a car in the lot and how I've probly been the only one but him in the store all week, so I take out a $20 place it on the counter and say " this is for the next 3 minutes of your time, just sew on the velcro and I'll be on my way as I need the gun tomorrow ( total bs ). he goes off about how he's 60 odd years old and earned the right to blah,blah blah etc. and I just say you coulda been done by now with $20 in your pocket, I'll let you get back to Jerry Springer and leave. go to the next A-hole and he wants $80 an hour, so I tell him look this isn't brain surgery and I'm a licensed RN with a college degree and don't make 1/3 that much and I can buy a whole new pad with velcro for $27, no wonder your store is like a ghost town. good thing my stomach incision opened up a bit or I'd be in jail for 2 counts of assualt by now. doesn't anyone want to make money anymore? can't even give it away.
NO many do not want to work for less than what they think they should work for! In the long run no income will close doors completely!!
Serves em all right too. They can all go under, and I could care less. The way I look at it, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
