So i was listening to the radio and they were talking about a flesh eating disease thats in the gulf. They said you can get it from an open wound or eating oysters.
They also said that one guy died within days of noticing a gash on his arm that turned onto a gaping hole.
Anyone else know anything about it?
Happens every simmer in bays and estuaries. They close Hagan's cove just about every summer due to it. I think the media is more present today than in years past, therefore why we are hearing more about it
I know all to well about flesh eating bacteria. Wife got it and local docs almost killed here by saying it was nothing but a boil, wait till it heads up and come back then. I knew better than that, and took here to Shands. Emergency surgery and 6 month recovery. Surgeon said another 24hrs and she would have been dead.
