Sounds about right. Normal install charge for a single hung window is $199-$299, plus the cost of the window. Now, your complex is not going to go out and try to get the best deal, but they are probably looking to replace the window and make a few bucks. You can probably go to Lowes and get somebody to come replace it, but it won't be for much less. If they press the issue about the window being "pressurized", I'd ask to see the paperwork. Most home replacement windows (except mobile home) are built to withstand the pressures generated by 125 mph winds or higher. Check the Door and Window section at Lowes.

Your getting hosed dude.Labor and mat 250.00 maybe. Depends on the window and if it's stucco,siding.

I worked for PGT for a few years and made the Windgaurd windows. I've seen people pay more than that for a peice of glass. Is it singled pain or doubled and if it is colored glass that will jack the price.
