I had a close call Sun,closer than I think actually.I stepped out of my truck where I always park Sun afternoon to move my ground blind. After a few seconds I heard something breaking brush near my feet. It was a 3' cottonmouth getting away from me. I don't know how close I was standing to it but I was close and never knew it was there till it moved. It went about ten feet and raised it's head with mouth open. I screwed with it trying to figure out how to kill it without shooting it and the friggin' thing come at me. I mean this snake was grumpy. I think I am definitly gonna get a .22 mag sidearm with some shot for these special occasions in the furure. I decided to shoot it whem I got back to the truck and it was gone.Oh well,I'll have to pay more attention net time.
should have ran it over
+1
Scary how close you can come to getting hit sometimes. I stepped off my 4 wheeler last year and on my 1st step a small rattler hit my gaiters and didn't penetrate. My stand was only 30 yds. off the main trail and something told me to put the gaiters on that afternoon. I hadn't worn them all weekend. :eek
To close for me. I would of screamed like a girl :eek Was chased ( or at least in was coming toward me) by one a couple of years ago, you could of heard me in a 2 mile radius as I was running for the 4 wheeler and laughing and screaming.
I'd be on the front page of the paper and on every major tv station's nightly news. "Fat Man Flies Unassisted".
