Im going shopping for a tree today. Might redneck it out. Finally got a girl who is supportive of my redneckery! Might have to drag the tree through a mudd bog then put it up. Haha

Those look pretty cool. I bought a strand of those too, way overpriced gonna make some next year.

Thanks. Ya I saw them at tractor supply up in ky after I had already made it and they wanted way too much for them.

Mine didnt cost me a dime. I still have 2 full boxes of green and red shells from that day.. havent got around to making more.

It's not brass the shell is green. I recieved it as a thank you for something I did while I was deployed.

Great tree-topper! Those rounds have proven to be "heaven sent" like an angel when used against enemies who have our boys pinned down, so it's a fitting tree-top ornament!

The A-10 (which uses the GAU-8 rotary cannon) uses 30mm rounds with shells that are made of aluminum and painted (or maybe powder-coated now-a-days, I'm not sure). I used to load them into a centerline gun pod on the F-4E, which had the same GAU-8, when I was stationed at Moody AFB, GA back in mid-80s. Those are some bad-azz guns!
