Might be he fell outta the tree too. It has been known to happen. It happens to the tree rats around my place all the time. I even saw an oversized yard rat (opossum) fall from an oak and take a dirt nap right in front of me. Course, I had to go inside to check my britches after he fell, cus it hit the ground about 3 feet from me, and scared the youknowwhat outta me. I'd be careful, as lamehawk said. It could be distemper. Seen that at times to. Poor ol woods bandits staggerin around running into trees and fallin off stumps and such.
