I did some checking because you got me thinking about it. The USS Stark was struck in the Persian Gulf by and Iranian jet and 37 were killed in 1987. I didn't see his name on the list of the dead. From what I remember he was killed in the time period I thought it was from a sea mine. I'm gonna have to do a little more snooping,I was sure it was from something in Libya.

Other Navy operations were Operation Earnest Will and Operation Praying Mantis. This all happened after I graduated high school in 84'. My buddy joined the Navy I think in 84' or 85'. I never seen him again after he left. I never knew for sure but was told he was killed over there. I can't find anything on record with his name but can assure you he was killed while in the Navy between 1985-87.He may have got drunk and fell in the water,I was just told he died in a mine explosion. Needless to say I hate them ragheaded bastard camel humpers and enough of our boys and girls have died over there.

I thought the USS Cole was hit by the suicide raft bomb in a Yemin harbor.
