Would only take one bite of my sour ars, and then run away with its tail between its legs. Been told I'm just too ornery to be ate by critters. Would give em an ulcer.
Third,Walked to stand in the dark then heard a panther hollar very close when leaving stand later in the day I saw the panther tracks on my back trail. That ?ucker was following me to my stand
Had the same thing happen to me while bowhunting in Indiana, except it followed me outta the woods and to the house (about 3 miles). I was only 12-13. I still have nightmares about that night. One of my german shepherds came back all messed up a few days later. The vet ID'ed the bites as large cat bites, but the dog made it out alright. Found out they had released some cats way to the west of us but had been reports of them making their way over.
Hard to feel like you're on top of the food chain when there's overcast covering the moon, all you have is a bow and a mini mag lite, and you can hear something following you in the snow behind you.
Y'all ever hunt with that guy who always sees a big buck,or any buck for that matter. Describes the rack and all but can never get a good shot, but he'll see a buck every time he goes out?Same guy never kills shit, has no pics of anything, you know who I'm talking about.

Yep. When I dog hunted we had this clown that hunted with us. He swore he could tell how many points a deer had based on its track, and that his dogs were trained to only run bucks. Told all kinds of stories of deer he killed, but funny I never saw him kill a deer in the few years he hunted with us
He sure gets around a lot. He's been a guest at my camp for years, usually sees a 6 pt from his stand every eve, sometimes an 8.
