So i had to start a flooring install today.

I went last friday and ripped all the carpet out, removed tile from the front foyer, and removed all baseboard. I wanted to pick up the Laminate Flooring that day but the guy at the store (JB factory carpet) Is a total jackass and has no idea what hes doing. I would not recomend anyone buying wood from there.. So the wood wasnt there on friday.

So i figure id go today and pick up the wood, padding, baseboard and thresholds and t moldings and get started.

So i get to the job this morning and set up everything.. And tell her to call this store and tell them im goingto pick up the wood.

She tells me that the guy said that none of the transition moldings are in.!!.. WTF man..

So i say ok forget his transitions just go to lowes and pick up some from them.

Ok i go over there and the guy puts 700 Sf of wood in the back of my pickup. And yes you guessed it. Looked like a redneck scrapping metal. The truck was sagging like poorly cooked eggs.. LOL.. Ok so i tell him wheres the underlayment padding. He says right here. I look at it and am like NOPE.. My customer paid for the upgraded padding not this cheap plastic good for nothing crap. he says thats all we got. So im pissed, i tell him can you shrink wrap it just incase it rains. He says we are limited on supplies we can just put a little on it.. GOD DAMIT.. it looked like a sock trying to cover a whale. Jump in the truck (sagging with a gangsta lean) and go to the ladys house in tampa palms..

Ok so im like oh well its not raining.. I get 5 mins away.. POURING.. cats and dogs.. Luckly i get to the house and the wood is dry cause it was in packages.

I get to the ladys house and start to unload the pallet and i notice this dam guy stuck 3 opened boxed in the middle of the shipment. The lady was pissed.. Called him and started yelling at him. Then when i show her the 2 boxes that the fork lift damaged she was on fire.. Then when told her that the underlayment that she ordered was not there and the guy was trying to rip her off she was pissed.. SO>.

I volunteered to go with her to lowes and pick up the GOOD underlaymant.. Th guy at JB was trying to sell her the cheapest one for 100 bucks a roll.. I got her the best one at lowes for 49 dollars a roll.. Then picked all the transitions and brought it to her car and went home.. What did i do today.. NOTHING BUT DRIVE AROUND!!

lol

Most people are incompetent and only show up at work to collect a check. I have got in more arguments in HD and Lowes than I can count

seriously.. the guy at jb is a total ass.. he had no knowledge.. and was so cheap he would not even put some wrap around my wood.. he had like 10 rolls.. and tells me hes limited on supplies.. then tries to rip off the customer.. the under layment that he was giving her was the same crap that comes wrapped around a dvd player when you take it out of the box.. the stuff she should of had should been like as thick as thin rubber.. thats how they make money.. they charge you for the upgraded pad then give you the bottom end that they get for free anyway.. seen this happen too many times. then when i install it you get that HALLOW sound.. If you ever walked on someones laminate and it has a hallow sound its because they have a cheap underlayment padding. bottom line.

That has been a problem everywhere non-skilled workers hired because a company will not pay a good wage for a skilled employee.I do understand a company can only afford so much but dang come on good labor is hard to find and they wonder why contractors go somewhere else to buy.

My father just had a cheapo crew put in a large picture window in the lake house. When we went to look at the work which was "ok" we found all the construction debris left there. When dad paid the guy and asked about the debris the guy says contractors dont do clean up you have to hire a crew to do that.............!WTF I have never seen or worked for any "good" contractor that did not do clean up.
