I've found that a lot of the stores local to me (in the "ghetto" around USF) have held decent amounts of ammo I couldn't find elsewhere(don't seem like many of the locals do much hunting...whoda thunk it?) ...might be worth calling to Sports Authority or the walmart here.
You are right. University gun and pawn at 22nd & Fletcher had a boat load of ammo on the shelf the other day. However, I walked out of there laughing at them at their gun prices
Checked Wally World in land o lakes, and all they had was #00

I know you are looking for 3", but just in case I got a couple of boxes of 2 3/4" #1 a few weeks ago from Shoot Straight. Not sure if they still have them.
