Can one of yall guru's post up a tell tale way to see if your Marlin lever gun is a 'Remlin"? I did at one time and determined mine was made before that era. I had to dig thru the Marlin forum to figure out how to do it. It is determined by the serial # somehow
Nacho has the info......
Good rule of thumb without having the serial number list, Nacho has the list, if the Marlin is a pre-cross bolt safety it isn't a Remington made gun.
I read it somewhere and now I can't remember. But is there a quality issue with the Remington made guns or is it just value?

Quality, like most everything coming out of cooperate Remington and affiliates these days that isn't special ordered or custom shop ordered.
