Wow. That is nice. Thats on my list. 🙂 First, I want a .270 though. :rockon
Sweet gun. :skeet
I was forced to sell my ruger red label 28 ga english straight stocked, good wood, a little on the lite side for pheasant but we had well trained dogs that would hold birds until sent in to flush, so shots were close. it's like having 2 guns. once you get used to using the selective trigger without much thought you can have 2 diff loads/chokes at hand for close/far shots. plus they are so safe and simple. just can't score a triple with one. very classic and classy, congrats and good luck.
Damn, I have owned my for 3 years and for some reason I have always used different chokes between the upper and lower barrels but never tried using different loads. I do not know why this escaped me. Thx Nacho now I have something new to wrap my brain around. This is one of the reasons I like this forum, I continue to learn something every time I am on here. This could get expensive trying new loads and chokes, any suggestions on where to start? I have more opportunies on quail and dove than pheasants though.
Here is my matching set of Mossberg's. 12 and 20. I love these, two of the best purchases I made. It's always a good day when I get to pull these out and put a couple boxes of shells through them.
T.C.R., the light bulb would have lit up eventualy, LOL. I just thought of another, in 12 ga 1- loaded for turkey and the other bbl for hog might be kinda nifty. for pheasant quail grouse I would put 7 1/2 shot improved in the top bbl and 6 shot mod in the lower, or 6's over 4's if shots would be longer.
