If you shoot 3 1/2" turkey loads, you better put your cheek down on the stock tight, and keep it snug on your shoulder

My lil girlfriend shoots my mossberg 835 with 3'' sabot slugs all day, you'll be fine!

I have an 870 combo that I retired when I bought a Mossberg 935 semi combo. You will like the 870.

As long as you are not too small guy, you'll be fine.
I'm 5'10" and I can shoot 6 rounds out of my 12ga Mossberg 500 in less than 3 seconds.
And as long as its pretty close enough, you can kill pigs with 2 3/4" 00 buckshots. (done it numerous times)
