Ive been looking into mosin nagants recently...there a cheap nice looking milsurp! I dont have my paws on one yet but I did go ahead and buy a monte carlo stock and a tri rail kit by utg. Advice? Opinions?
Im thinking about having a mosin for myself too for some hogs and maybe deers.
I haven't really found a good mosin with good price but I found this original Mosin nagant scope from world war 2 and the guy is selling for real cheap.
I just want to restore the whole original mosin and have a pride that I have a rifle that has been used by millions of snipers you know lol
I've had a 91/30 for about 15 years. It was one made by Remington for the Russians in 1917. Pretty good shooter, was hitting a 2'x2' steel plate at 300 yards with open sights first time I took it to the range. I paid $79 for it back then. Shoulda bought 5 of them! Been thinkng about buying another and sporterizing it, but haven't seen an aftermarket stock I like.
The monte carlo stock is pretty sweet looking and it has a cheek rest which i like because ill have to mount the scope really far near the rear sites...it also helps that its nilon and glass filled makes it very sturdy! Im excited for this gun really haha! Gonna put a bipod on there as well...I hope the one i get still has the bayenette! Im just afraid that if at any point that i need to do some smithing that im out of luck
Here is one for sale
