Here is a good starter O/U Remington Peerless with choke tubes for $700.00. That O/U was my second O/U after an ole worn out Winchester 101 and before moving onto a Ruger Red Label and then onto two different Brownings Citori's...

That's a lower end but quality O/U in this game chief..... Go look at a Beretta O/U they start around $2300 and go way up.

Brownings start in the $1200 and up range... Ruger Red Labels in the $900 and up range...

You need to look for a reloader (I prefer a MEC) and start-up reloading supplies. They are gonna run you near $500-$1000 for a decent set up and enough supplies to load your first 1000 rounds... I'd do that before I even thought about buying a new shotgun if you wanna play this game for real.

Your 870 will work just fine for clays. Does your 870 have screw in chokes? or is it a fixed choke barrel?

Honestly. Im not sure. It's the first shotgun I've owned. My dad has always owned them for turkey hunting. I've never got into them

I think it is a fixed choke barrel if I'd have to guess.
