Man i would love to do some good dove hunting. I like the browning bps, mostly because the shells eject down, for a pump, or the benelli nova. I use my grandpas sxs 12 ga l.c. smith for the clay range at teneroc most of the time. i dont have any experience with semi auto shotguns, but have been looking at the stoeger 2000, and would love the winchester sx3.

It depends upon three things in my opinion. What shotgun you shoot well, what type shotgun you prefer or like, and what you can afford!

What are you shooting now shotgun wise? What type of shotgun are you looking for SXS, O/U, Semi Auto, Pump?

I have shot alot of Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays Targets and have owned and shot alot of SXS's, O/U's, Semi Autos, and Pump shotguns. It's all preference and what you shoot well. $$$$$$$ helps also...

Do you reload? If you don't and are serious about shooting clay birds you had better start reloading or you'll go broke buying shotgun shells once your shooting a 100-200 targets a week.

I jut got into it. I have a 1950 Somethin 12 guage wing master pump. I do not reload as of yet. I like pumps and semis

shooting clays is a lot different than shooting trap or skeet. Some shooters actually change chokes between target stands. My suggestion is an over/under with changeable chokes. What brand is what your pocketbook can afford. But most important of all factors-the gun must fit like a glove. All the other factors are important but I think, been shoot clays and trap since 1984, is the gun fit. With the cost of shells, reloading is an option but price out the costs and time factor. The cost of lead fluctuates all the time and buying a pallet of shot can be expensive. No matter which way u go, DEEP POCKETS is a must.
