gotta look anywhere and everywhere and be patient, it will happen. newspapers,garage sales, web sites, bulletin boards. I've got 4 REAL nice pistols in the last 6 months off the bulletin board at the chazz range. 2 sigs both custom smithed, nickel plated 1- my current 239 40 cal all stainless, and 2 a 220 45 acp customized nickeled internal laser fiber optic sights, 500$ each. the 220 is worth app 1200$. and 2 nice older S&W revolvers for 625$ for both. I don't look or buy anywhere near the scale that GB does. things are slow and sparse now and prices high with the panic, but when you least expect or can afford it, BAM, and you gotta move quick.
Sig 239 new is out of my price range and I can't find any used that are in my price range but ill keep looking. I'd really like the sig, I know it's a good brand but where are you all looking for used? I know flguntrader, anywhere else?
I honestly don't know what IDSC and IDPA means lol but I think we'd enjoy a competition just for something to do.

Lol the whole girlfriend thing is a perfect way to buy "her" a gun that ill get to shoot, then down the road be able to buy myself another gun without her getting mad. Genious I know, but I'd also like for her to be well protected. We live in tampa and well, you know how some parts get. She loves shooting too, so hopefully it'll be out new hobby.
Look into SIG P6 pistols.
They are basically a P-225 with minor differences made for Germany's police and border patrols. They normally come with extra heavy springs which makes them hard to pull the DA trigger but if you re-spring them with P-225 spring set you'll get decent triggers action. They frequently pop up for sale for about $400 with 2 mags.
My wife carried a P-225 for a while and she liked them a lot.
+1 KC, forgot about them. you can also send guns back to sig for upgrades. they have diff pkg options and the more you do the cheaper it gets. an action enhancement pkg, short trigger and night sights is what I've done on my 3 and it makes a huge difference.
