its a good round. how much do those run new scott?

i get a pretty good deal on them. my buddy owns a gun shop here in Tampa. I'm paying under 300.00 . He has a deal on scopes right now. few months ago i got 2 h&r rifles for $500 total

how did u prep the stock before u start painting? do u sand it down or somethin i wanna try this

Definitely keep me updated on how the 25-06's shoot guys, I want a gun in that cartridge and am low on funds so that might be the way to go. I don't wanna lug my howitzer around all the time (.300 Weatherby) and I think the 25-06 would be a good cartridge for me.

not sure how the h&r shoots but my .25-06 ruger m77 is awesome, dropped every dear ive ever hit.

with a good quality bullet the 25-06 can handle game up to 500lbs, but need at least 24" of bbl length for velocity, mine was 26" and have heard some are 28" in customs. no real recoil to speak of. a 75 gr hollow point will make small game dissapear and a 120 gr I used for hunting, but the 100 gr is adequate for both big/small game and target and won't have to re-sight between diff loads. a great round for shots over 50 yds to 500 and for kids/women and recoil shy.
