Well...been pretty busy and out of town quite a bit, but finally finished up the eight point the guy brought me a while back....so I thought I would take pictures as I went along for you guys who are interested....this buck was taken somewhere around Wauchula and is a pretty nice deer with a nice wide spread and good mass....unfortunately for the guy who shot it, the day he dropped it off I was working on Dropt9s big buck and this guy with the Florida buck was amazed at the size difference of that big Georgia deer....but I told him that his was also a great deer and a trophy nonetheless and it is...as you will see in the pics....a darned nice Florida buck with a rack that would even be a good one in Georgia...so here it is starting with the day I took it out of the freezer....oh by the way, the guy shot this deer at about 10 paces on the ground, in a Mexican standoff with the buck that walked right up on him...he never even got to his stand....and shot it with a 30.06 in the neck....and between that and him caping it out....it had six holes in the neck from about the size of a dime to a couple of quarter sized holes and one about like a fifty cent piece....lots of sewing....so here it is.
First day right out of freezer
After skinning and removing skull cap
After putting cape and antlers back on form...
After two days of drying on the form
After final sculpting, painting, finishing....complete on wall
Looks good!
Thanks Rad....it take a little while usually about two months they way I do them....this one I did in about 6-7 weeks. Depends on work load, hunting, fishing, honey-dos, beer supply, etc....
