I found a nice nine point skull and would like to put it on a plaque. The antlers are dry and chalky. Is there anything I can put on the antlers to make them look better and preserve them.

Well right or wrong, I put a revitalizing oil on them. It took the chalky out.

Oil will help....I have heard of some people using olive oil...never did myself.....if they are bleached bad they can actually be restored with paints that are made just for antlers and will look pretty darned good again....and then resealed....they can also be put back onto a skull for a nice looking euro mount....check out my pics on the post from hellbilly....send me a pm if you need more info....

thanks
dave
