I still have a boar head in the freezer from back in November he has 2" cutters and wetters. I wanna try doing my own european skull mount. Anyone done there own? Am I gonna get divorced if I try to do it in the house?

skin off all that you can with a knfe
put the skull in pot and boil. Well actually a heavy simmer is better. I add some dish soap and a cup or so of borax to the water. If the brain is still in, you will need to get a coat hanger and break it up so it will boil out
You will need to change your water several times
I usually will boil for about 30 minutes, change water, and scrape skull
A deer skulll will take about 4 batches of water, a hog 5-6
When you dump water, make sure to check for any teeth that fell out. You can use loc-tite to glue them back in
After several boilings and you are sure you got all meat and flesh off, let it air dry for several days. Glue teeth back in
You can take a pair of pliers and pull all 4 cutters/witters out a bit to make it look "meaner". That is completely optional
That is about it. The soap will help kill the smell and the borax will whiten it up
If you do a deer, use the same procedure but do not let the antlers get in the water. It will bleach them out

Bleach will break the bone down and make the bone very brittle.
You can go to a hair supply store and get 40% peroxide. Not the stuff you use on a cut. This is for bleaching hair
It will realy whiten it up
Also the borax will leave it good and white. The one hanging in my office I just did the boiling and it is still as white as can be
