I hunted sat morning (started a little late, hungover) 8:30 I jumped a hog but had no shot. I walked for about 2 hours and saw nothing but squirrels and birds. Went back out about 1:00 and decided to head to the swampy area where the water is. As soon as I hit the mud I jumped a huge lite brown hog. It was running straight away from me threw the swamp and jumped into the creek and out the other side into the palmettos. This thing was all of 300#. Never had a clear shot I walked about 10 more yards and a second hog blasted threw the palmettos. I gave chase but didn't stand a chance in that thick crap. Spent the rest of the day scouting new areas for next year. On sun I walked the other side of the swampy area were the big hog ran. Saw plenty of fresh rooting but no hogs. I did find a nice buck that was dead so i dragged his head out. All in all a good weekend. Can't wait for next years archer season. I found some great spots!!!!
