I always dreamt of hunting from a shooting house, thought that would be the ultimate in luxury and class. beats the hell out of sitting on the cold ground with a rock in your butt. but too comfy and I sleep and not comfy enough and I fidget, feel like goldilocks. and wouldn't you know after 20 yrs of owning an incredible 25-06 varmint rig with 4.5-14 scope that could hit golf balls at 200 yd's easy, the moment I sell it along comes the opportunity that I could really use it.the old 7mm08 is still good to 200 easy and 300 with a good rest and being in the zone and me doing my part even if it is a little 18" bbl 1.5-5 power pea shooter, it has taken most of my game. down here I am relying on my shotgun more and more either with the rifled/scoped bbl or smooth bore, also the 22 mag is seeing a lot more use. I just went from 22 guns to 6 and am going thru firearm withdrawal.maybe thats why I've been so cranky at x's.

the longest shot from my shooting house to the swamp and feeder is about 86 yards...I bait at 30-50 and at 86 yards. my .308 is 0 at 50 and 100 yards.
