You can kill a rabbit with a .22cal. I would not suggest using an air rifle. May not be an ethical shot which may lead to a lot of tracking and loss of an injured rabbit.

This out of Croom's rules. (8. For hunting non-migratory game, only shotguns, rifles, pistols, bows,
crossbows (during the general gun, small game and spring turkey seasons,
or by permit) or falconry may be used.) I don't think this include's pellet rifles but you can call and find out and you need a quota for the first 9 days of general gun season.

The new air rifles with 1200 and better FPS can and will dispatch a rabbit/squirrel easily. If they are legal in a WMA

air riffles are not leagal to hunt with in fl. well atleast not on public land. and as for quotas unless you have a quota for a area that requires one for the first 9 days you cannot hunt the area till the 9 are up.
