My ideas have not faired well as of yet but reading and watching FB post/YT video from Carlos it made me wonder.I make a hot dipping BBQ sauce I sold at my Bait shops with my shop label on it.Can anyone tell me the laws for selling a home made sauce there. The sauce would be in sealed mason jars just liked any home canning!
My buddy Wayne took the sauce to the Mild to WILD Pepper and Herb bash and ppl sure liked it and that is where we got a mix of peppers to make the hotter sauces. So what I was thinking is after I get down there and settled in I could make a small batch for the forum to taste and try out.I make 2 types each has a milder hot to the super hot!Super hot is very hot but with a good BBQ flavor!!
To the point if ppl here like it I could make some up with the forum label and we could sell it for the forum if all goes well.If it would sell it would be some good way to make some money for the forum.I am talking of making a gallon to test and then maybe 4 to 6 gallons(sold in pint jars) to sell to forum members, friends or hand out a few maybe.
This is just an idea to mull over for future,Rion!
thres alot of stuff to do to be a LEGAL company.. but selling it here is all good.. just let me know.
That is the idea to sell it here to forum and forum friends and maybe a local hand out to get interest.
From the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Food Safety website FAQ ( http://www.doacs.state.fl.us/fs/FAQGen.html ):
4. Can one cook or prepare food at home to sell to the public?
Preparation of food for sale to the public must be in a facility in which there is complete separation of living quarters from food preparation facilities. The food preparation facility must be adequately equipped and fully satisfy all food facility requirements of Chapter 500, F.S., and section 5K-4, F.A.C.
Chapter 500 F.S. (Florida Statutes) - http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=Ch0500/ch0500.htm
section 5K-4, F.A.C. (Florida Administrative Code) - https://www.flrules.org/gateway/chapterhome.asp?chapter=5k-4
Then of course you have county and city requirements based on where you do the deed.
They make it nice and easy to do business, don't they?
Wow just read through and I don't know still, lol!
