Definitely Penn for offshore here-320 and 330 GTIs for bottom fishing/trolling and 750ss spinning gear for bottom jigging/cobia setup. I love the 5'6" "shorty" stand-up Penn rods also.
I use Abu Garcias and a few Quantum baitcasters for inshore though I rarely fish there anymore.
Shimano for flats fishing and on the pier fishing for Spanish macks , deep sea I like my penn's. :boat
Just bought a new penn sargus..sweet ass reel and reasonable cost..I am using it tomorrow, I will let you know how it does..I own almost all penns, no shimanos, I use penns for reds,snook,trout,grouper,tarpon..They are great reels in my book..
I agree. No expensive stuff for me. I beat my equipment up

Agree. Had a couple Shimano's and never cared for them. I just got a Penn Captiva 4000 and a Ande 7' rod. Less than $80 for the whole shebang. 10# fireline Crystal. Ill fight any inshore fish out there
