I just picked up a bay boat and it came with a Garmin 740S installed already. I am still learning how to use it but it has the GPS/Chartplotter, Depth/Fish Finder and preloaded Fishing Hot Spot maps. Never had one before but I really like the features as it will go split screen for you. I decided to pick up a handheld VHF Radio, its a Cobra HH350 endorsed by SeaTow and it floats if you drop it in water.

I had a gpsmap garmin for my big boat and loved it! You could put in a location you wanted to go to and it would pop up a full color picture of what you should see directly in front you going toward your route!
