Yes, it can I took off a half of a day to carry my dad fishing at the barge cannel to see if we could catch some mullet before they roe out. We fished till about 4:00. The wind began to pick up and with my dad being 79 years old I knew that he didn't need to be in the cold wind. Although we didn't catch anything it was all good. You know what they say, A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work. As I pulled up to the dock at the ramp I was driving the boat, and told my dad that I would get out and go back the trailer down and he could drive the boat onto the trailer. I pulled the boat right up to the edge of the dock and stepped up onto the dock with both feet. At this point I should have tried out for the Olypics dive team, because even though I had both feet on the dock I still had sea legs. I turned around and did a swan dive right into the bottom of the boat head first. My head hit the battery box and broke the plastic box. Then I just piled up in the bottom of the boat like a pile of sh1t. Of course the first thing out of my dad's mouth, are you ok? Then he said to just lay there to get my composure before trying to get up. I layed there for a couple of minutes and got my sinces back. Once again dad asks are you ok? I told him that I thought that i had broken my wrist. My dad said "I don't know what I can do to help, but I'll do what I can. I finally got up on a cooler and told dad that I was like an old cowboy...needed a bottle of wiskey to kill the pain. That made lite of the situtation and we was able to get the boat loaded. I told pops that he could drive me home, and on the way called the the wife and told her that she was going to have to carry me to the VA hospital. I was right the wrist was broke in 3 places and other than having a dime sized skint spot on my head from diving on the battery box.
Oh also crushed a $200.00 pair of shades I had on my face.
Look on the bright side of things, we didn't have a bunch of fish to clean...
:saluting
Had more than a few days like that minus the broken bones! We now look back and laugh at all the calamities and what brought them on. Hope you "heal up and hair over" quickly so you and your dad can go try it again. Treefarmer
