Jack O' Connor vs Elmer Kieth the argument will never rest lol, I agree about brush hunting but i hunt mostly ranches and sod farms where shots out to 600 arent uncommon ( not that i advocate shooting that far). My 110's are around 3300 and very accurate. Ive had to thread em into tight spots before but im building a custom enfield .303 british for a brush round.

I'm elmer at 75 yds and less, and Jack at over 150. but I personaly think a 100 gr wt is a minimum for antelope and up. luv my 270wsm and my do it all round is 7mm08, I can load a fast 120 gr for distance or a 175 gr for hogs up close and 140 gr for all purpose. I think alot of people are missing out on good loads by not loading the heaviest wt bullet they can and zero at 50 yds, example 308 with a 200 gr and 30-06 with 220, yeah it's a bit more recoil but you get alot more smackdown at the closer ranges.

I like O'Connor dislike recoil and favor lightweight rifles with fast accurate bullets. You gotta remember that velocity is part of the equation for knockdown power and causes hydrostatic shock.
