DON'T SIZE DIRTY BRASS, you're just asking for trouble, jmo.
Like he said.....you clean and use enough lube....i like a little lube inside the neck, it helps to control the neck growing longer and having to trim the case every time.
you will want to check the cases over all length, trim as necessary
Chamfer the inside and outside of the neck...
Clean your primer pockets
What you loading the 06 cases with? (powder / bullet)
Well for now im just resizing and de priming.
Im going to load 150gr bullets. Not sure what type yet. Obviously a hunting grade.
Just waiting for work to pick up so i can get a tumbler, bullets, powder and other misc tools.
I got ALL of my 30.06 brass ready for the tumbler. But im not going to do the .223 until i get a tumbler. I want to take your advice and tumble first.
I figured get all the hard work done first on all my calibers so then all i gotta do is re prime, powder, and seat bullet. But im learning from all the advice that i should tumble brass first to get it fully clean before resizing.
what you can do to save $ and still have plenty of ammo for practice is buy 2 diff bullets of the same wt and as similar shape/length as possible, 1 a quality hunting bullet (I like nosler partitions), and a second of the lowest price for shooting paper. both should shoot to almost the same point of impact so you don't have to change the scope between bullets and hopefully you won't have to change the seater die either.
I really like H4350 or IMR 4350 for my 06
I currently have 18 diff caliber die sets, and sold a few but have never owned or loaded for an 06, kinda hard to believe. I've loaded calibers all around it however.
