thanks for the congrats, went to the woods this past fri. afternoon and spooked a turkey putting my climber on the tree, saw nothing the rest of the day, went back to the same spot before daylite sat. morning,i was about 60 yards from a big scrape and 10 yards from a rub,at 10:30 a doe walks out, stops about 25 yards broadside,i let the arrow fly and she jumps straight up the arrow goes under her and sticks into a grassy mound, don't see anything else the rest of the day, went back to that same spot tues. morning before daylite, about 10:30 a doe walks out,get ready to draw back and hear a few grunts so i turn my head and see the buck trailing her and then he stops,i let the arrow fly,it breaks through his right front shoulder into his heart,he goes 35 yards into some thick stuff and stops,i see his head moving through the palmettos then he layed down,i sat in my stand for the longest hour of my life, got down picked up my arrow and started following the blood trail right up to him, then raised my bow in the air and did the happy dance,in all the years i hunted this is my first buck, first deer, and first bow kill.thanks james for posting the pics,in all the excitement i forgot to make up a sign with my screen name and date and put it in the pic.gear used in the hunt:martin saber bow -70 lb. draw wt.,nap-spitfire 100gr. 3 blade mech. broadhead, carbon express terminator hunter 6075 arrow, cobra mech. release, wallyworld camo, api bow hunter climber stand,he wasn't the biggest buck buck in the woods, but he is my trophy buck.thanks dad for teaching me how to hunt long ago. :angel
