My wife just got me a vacuum packer at Good will. That worked great for sausage. When wrapping meat use a simple veggie bag put the meat in the bag roll out the air and wrap in butcher paper. In a none defrosting freezer it will last 5 years
That as old as i have ever tested.
We've had a vacuum sealer for several seasons and it really does a good job. We keep a lot of meat in a big chest freezer out in my shop and you know how that goes. I found some boneless chops that were from 2013 a few weeks ago and they were as fresh as they could be, no freezer burn or loss of color. I'm a believer when it comes to vacuum sealing venison!

Looks like the area I was supposed to hunt this year but didn't get a chance to.
I had so much going on in October that I couldn't take any more time off at work. I hope to pull a permit next year
