Yesterday morning we were going from our hotel to Magic Kingdom in Disney World early in the morning.
It was too early to go to the park so we decided to drive around the DW property to look around as see what we could see.
A little before 8:00AM we were lost on a quiet road somewhere west of Magic Kingdom surrounded by woods. Just as I was slowing down to make a U turn my wife sees a buck just 20-25 yards away off the side of the road in the woods. It was huge and remined us of Red Stags we saw while at Scotland. I stopped the car and we just stared at the buck while it slowly walked away and looking back at us occasionally. My wife tried to lower her window to take a picture but at the sound of the window motor it he picked up his speed and went into the woods. It was the biggest buck we had ever seen in FL and had a nice 5x6 rack that was thick. We've seen bucks approching that size only in Pennsylvania couple years ago. My wife estimated the weight of the buck at 275 lb. while I thought it would be a little smaller at about 250 lb. It was definitely the biggest we've ever seen in Florida. I don't know what they eat up there but they get big.
It was the biggest thrill of our trip.
Good genetics, good soil and no hunting will make them grow like that

And plenty of green grass that's always watered and cut... No shortage of deer food down there when there is a drought in the rest of the state. Disney owns it's own county and doesn't have to listen to anyone but the state and feds and most of the time they blow them off.
NO HUNTING NO TRESPASSING NO PRESSURE AND AN ABUNDENT FOOD SUPPLY = BIG BUCKS ANY WHERE IN THE WORLD!
Never seen a buck on the property, but they have some of the biggest does I have ever seen!
In the back of my truck I had my Remington 870 with couple of 1 oz slugs and 00 Buckshots... it would have been an easy shot :devil
