So i got up and went out this morning for the last chance to get a doe, sitting there in a natural blind i hear a huge crash and thought dam armadillos. 648first light out come this buck nose to the ground. first deer I have seen that I had a shot at(2nd year hunting first shot taken ) was forcing my self to use a black powder to get used to it. He stops i line up and fire... smoke crash and i see him jump and run Dam. then i hear a crash was excited. waited 30 min and got out and no blood nothing called father in law checked for 2 hours no sign of blood .father in law telles me you caught your self some buck fever . we laughed and came home. it was my first chance to take a shot and now i got the miss out of the way for my next trip

Sounds like a hit to me. what kind of bullets you shooting?
Cva slick load sabots 250 grain
how did he jump? straight up like a bucking horse? would indicate a hit to me. if there is no exit that could acount for no blood trail, or sometimes fat/organs/skin will move and block blood from exiting the animal for a while, eventualy it should start leaking but can be very hard to trail and they can cover a lot of ground fast when in haul azz mode.
Back out to check spent another couple hours found tracks but no deer
